How funny and happy are you?
Do you like to laugh and joke with your child?
It is so healthy to let your child see you with a warm, laughing style. When they see you relaxed and not taking life so seriously, where humour is part of your day, you are sending them some important messages.
Your child learns:
• Not to take life so seriously.
• Humour feeds the soul and makes for a happy disposition.
• A child will look for humour and joy if you show them how easy it is to find it.
• A child with a happy disposition who sees humour in life has less chance of developing mental health issues.
• A home full of laughter encourages your child to be in that home more often.
• A child that recognises that laughter is a positive way of dealing with issues develops less anxiety.
• Think about your childhood. Who did you gravitate around, and who did you admire? I am sure the answer will be that you valued people that were warm, encouraging and full of life.
“Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.”
