Being a good parent doesn't mean being available every minute of every day.

Parenting is demanding. Between school, homework, meals, activities and family responsibilities, it is easy for parents to put themselves last.

But personal space isn't a luxury — it is part of being a healthy parent and a happy one.

It might be as simple as:

  • ☕ Enjoying your morning coffee quietly.

  • 🚶 Taking a short walk on your own.

  • 📖 Reading for 20 minutes.

  • 💬 Catching up with a friend.

  • 🎵 Listening to music without interruption.

  • 🧘 Simply sitting quietly and doing nothing.

You don't need hours. Small amounts of time can make a big difference.HAVING YOUR TIME IS IMPORTANT IN PARENTING WELL.

Teach your children that everyone needs some time for themselves. It helps them learn an important lesson too — that looking after yourself is not selfish; it is sensible. parents, give yourself permission to create a little space in your day. YOU ALSO OWN THE DAY.

You don't have to choose between being a good parent and looking after yourself.

A parent who has time to breathe, recharge and enjoy life has more to give their children.

When your child sees you enjoying the day they come to understand that a happy well balanced parent makes for a happier child.
